  1. What a terrible game 1! CC was good but not good enough and the Yankees line up made Cliff look like Sandy Koufax! Well all hope falls to AJ Burnett (what a terrible thought) and his abiltity to out pitch a half of famer out of his prime!

What a horrible time for hughes to be struggling. jeez, can we at least score one freakin run and not make cliff look like cy young. at least we know not to bring in bruney anymore- and maybe even no hughes. this score stinks.

Our young bullpen looked scared and intimidated out there tonight. Let’s hope that they pull it together tomorrow night. How bad is it when Marte does the best job out of 5 guys.

They need to turn it around before the Phillies start bullying and get their express going. Pedro can be crafty and rise to the occasion.

All that I can say is–remember 1996. The Braves kicked our butts the first 2 games, but we turned it around.

We need to get to the soft underbelly of Phillie pitching and put a hurt statement on them.

Come on, Yankees, get mad at this embarassment and play to your level.

This is going to be a get down and scrap series.

Don’t let Pedro put a late career gem together.

    Let’s get going!

I just hope that this Series follows 1996, and not 1976. There are so many first time WS guys, on this team, sometimes it takes a little bit of a beating to overcome your starry eyes, and get down to work and let your talent come out in the really big time.

In 1976, it seemed that Munson was the only one not intimidated and hitting–just like Jeter this game. The 1976 Yankees faced a great team-Reds, going for a repeat, and sprinkled with HOF-ers. This Phillies team reminds me a little of that Reds team. Utley is a class guy and on a HOF spiral (espicially after tonight). The 1976 Yankees were estatic just to be back in the Series again after being away for so long. A little similar to this year.

I still can’t believe how cheap the Phillies got Lee this summer. Why didn’t we get him that cheap? The Phillies really didn’t give up anything of importance to this yr’s team, and maybe only one good prospect.

We need one more big pitcher for next year.

If Pedro pulls one out of his hat, and the Phillies bomb Andy in Philly, then it can become a year like 1976.

Please let it be like 1996, or 1958.
