While the specific dates of the individual ALCS games were released in advance, their respective starting times were a mystery until now.

The chart was provided by the Yankees’ official website. CC Sabathia is scheduled to start Game 1 against John Lackey. You can catch every game on FOX. Despite FOX’s many flaws, I actually think it’ll be a significant play-by-play upgrade when compared to some of the garbage we heard from the TBS crew. I still have night terrors in which Chip Caray screams like a crazed lunatic, yelling about a “fisted” ball into left-center.

Why is there an off day between games 4 and 5? I heard about this for the first time on Mike and Mike, it doesn’t make sense, when does a baseball season have an off day in between two home games against the same team? The other Chris H(Quote)

Chris,
Do you still think that Brian Cashman will go after H. Street in the coming off season?
I fully agree with you that he was thinking this, before the Rockies hired their new mgr, and took off, thereby making Street unavailable. I read where the Rockies were looking at signing him to a multi-yr. I wonder if the two losses will make any difference.
I have mixed feelings about him–he’s still young, fast, and has good stats. But it’s hard to judge how such key losses will affect him. Some guys recover, and some lose their confidence and don’t.
I guess if we can get him cheap, I’d look at it favorable. Perhaps, he needs the proximity of Mo to better learn the deep nuances of late relief.
For example, Sandy Alomar’s HR in 1997 off Mo sure did not seem to affect the projectory of Mo’s career in any negative ways. I was worried about this at the time.
But Street would sure look good in the 8th inning, if the Yankees plan on starting Hughes and Joba next yr. Much better than Bruney.

Street is a very possible option if for no other reason than no one else better is available to sign or trade for unless you want someone older from the NL like Valverde. I’m not sure what the Rockies would want but since he is close to being a FA maybe they wouldn’t go all out with there requests. I do think you will see either a trade for an OFer or bull pen piece this off season though, the FA class just isn’t strong enough. The other Chris H(Quote)

It makes no sense logistically speaking except when you realize that baseball is a business and they want to avoid Friday night games (poor ratings) and have potential game 7’s on Sunday night (high ratings). Joe O(Quote)

Someone on RAB aid the Angels are considering Saunders for Game 2.

If that happens, then Kazmir must be hurt. There’s no other explanation for it that I can think of. Steve(Quote)

Could it be because Weaver isn’t very good against NY (I believe)? Not sure. Chris H.(Quote)

This year Weaver has pitched 19.1 innings in 3 games with an ERA of 5.59 and a record of 1-1… 4 HRs, 9 BBs, .232 BA against.
From 2006-2008 Jered had 22 IP against the Yankees with a 6.14 ERA but he had a 3-1 record in those games… 8 HRs, 9 BBs, .287 BA against. The other Chris H(Quote)

Kazmir has been good against the Yankees but not at Yankee stadium so I really don’t think you will see him start any games in New York which means if they want Weaver to be the 4 Saunders has to start game two and that gives us a huge advantage with AJ on the hill in two games against Saunders.
