CC Sabathia has been recognized for his third consecutive stellar August, being awarded the AL Pitcher of the Month:

In six starts last month, Sabathia posted a perfect 5-0 record with a 2.64 ERA while leading the AL with 44 1/3 innings and a Major League-best 49 strikeouts as the Yankees built a commanding lead over the Red Sox in the AL East.

It’s the fourth monthly honor of Sabathia’s career and his second as a member of the AL.

The Yankees brought CC in to pitch well in the latter portions of the season, when the division or a playoff spot is on the line. His performance has been obscured a bit due by the Yankees opening a huge lead on Boston, but it is great to see him rolling heading into the season’s final month. Hopefully he carries his hot streak straight into October.
