- Reegie Corona was 1 for 3 with a homer and a walk. He is putting together a nice season, batting .301 with an .836 OPS, which is solid for a middle infielder.

- Jesus Montero, catching, was 2 for 4 with his 1st AA home run, a bomb to dead center.

- Lance Pendleton was very effective, giving up just a hit and a walk in 5 shutout innings, while strikiing out 2.

- Brandon Laird was 1 for 4, and was caught stealing.
- Seth Fortenberry wsa 2 for 3 with a double.
- Matt Cusick and Walter Ibarra were each 1 for 3.

Charleston over Savannah, 9-2
- David Phelps pitched well as the starter, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings of work. He also struck out 3.
- Jose Pirela continued to hit well, going 3 for 5 with a walk and a stolen base.
- Ray Kruml was also 3 for 5.
- Corban Joseph was 3 for 6, with his 2nd homer in as many games.
- Melky Mesa ws 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 walks.
- Abe Almonte was 1 for 5.
- Taylor Grote was 1 for 5.
- Garrison Lassiter was 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 fielding errors.

- Kyle Higashoka was 2 for 5 with a double and the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 9th.

The GCL Yankees were off today
That’s all for tonight. It was an interesting night around the minors, highlighted by Ian Snell’s 17-strikeout performance in AAA (with 13 in a row at one point), and Lake Elsinore blew out High Desert 33-18 (showing why it is reasonable to be skeptical of offensive stats acquired in the Cal League). It was nice to see Montero get that first AA home run. Mike Ashmore had this to say about the homer:
Saying it was crushed would be an understatement. Montero’s blast was hit to dead center, where the wall stands 407 feet away. It hit more than halfway up the batters eye…and that part of the wall has got to be 30-40 feet tall.
