Baseball America has the rosters
posted for the American and World teams. 2 Yankees were selected to be on the world team. Jesus Montero is 1 of the 2 catchers on the world roster (the other being Carlos Santana), so he will likely get a fair amount of playing time. This is Montero’s 2nd straight season being selected to the Futures Game.
The 2nd Yankee picked was Manny Banuelos, which surprised me a bit. He has pitched very well this season as an 18 year-old in Charleston, and is worthy of selection. I would have expected an older prospect like Austin Jackson, Zach McAllister, or Austin Romine to make the team ahead of Banuelos, though looking at the stacked US roster, I can understand why none of those guys made the team.
This is a recognition of the great seasons that these 2 prospects are having, and hopefully they’ll be able to continue performing well. It will be exciting to see them play on TV against some of the best prospects in the minors.

Speaking of McAllister, why hasn’t he pitched lately?
